Local history groups

There are many local history groups in the county, each carrying out valuable research into their locality. Many of them publish the results both in book form and on their websites.
We already liaise with local groups when carrying out our own research and plan to expand this in future as we complete the series of VCH red books.
Beyond that, we hope in the longer term to develop this website into a central point of contact for local history groups across the county. In this way, groups can benefit from each other’s experience and ensure that the huge amount of local research carried out is shared with as wide an audience as possible.
